Urodzony: 7 marca 1957 Brytyjski pisarz, dziennikarz i komentator polityczny, wyróżniony tytułem Felietonisty Roku. Absolwent wydziału literatury angielskiej Uniwersytetu w Cambridge. Pracował jako reporter telewizji BBC, dziennikarz prasowy i komentator polityczny w brytyjskich dziennikach „The Observer”, „Sunday Times” i „The Daily Telegraph”. Harris jest autorem kilku światowych bestsellerów, napisanych w konwencji thrillera powieści nawiązujących do wydarzeń z historii starożytnego Rzymu Pompeje, Cycero, Spisek i Dyktator, drugiej wojny światowej oraz współczesnej [>>] polityki. Cztery z nich Vaterland, Enigma, Archangielsk i Autor widmo zostały zekranizowane, m.in. przez Romana Polańskiego. Książki Harrisa przetłumaczono na 30 języków. W czasach działalności dziennikarskiej napisał kilka książek z gatunku literatury faktu, między innymi na temat wojny o Falklandy czy fałszywych dzienników Hitlera. W 1992 roku ukazał się Vaterland, jego pierwsza powieść, opowiadająca alternatywną wersję historii, w której naziści wygrywają drugą wojnę światową. Zarówno Vaterland, jak i wydaną trzy lata później Enigmę wkrótce sfilmowano. Na podstawie Archangielska z 1999 roku powstał miniserial telewizyjny.
