Jesmyn Ward ur. 1 kwietnia 1977 r. – amerykańska pisarka i profesor nadzwyczajny języka angielskiego na uniwersytecie w Tulane. Pierwsza kobieta dwukrotnie uhonorowana National Book Award for Fiction - w 2011 r. za „Salvage the Bones” oraz w 2013 r. za swoją trzecią powieść – „Śpiewajcie, z prochów, śpiewajcie”. Stypendystka Stegner Fellowship na Uniwersytecie Stanforda oraz MacArthur „Genius” Grant.
